Our work ranges from managing street traders to running children's holiday programmes; from strategising disruptive new business models to creating tantalising content; from discovering artisan food producers to facilitating skills transfer to entrepreneurs.
If you can imagine it, we can make it happen!
Metropolitan Health/South African Growth Institute Street Traders Project
In co-operation with MH/SAGI, we manage a group of street traders in Adderley Street, Cape Town, who utilise specially-produced, branded mobile vending units (MVUs) from which they trade each day.
Besides offering convenient, secure kiosks to these informal micro-entrepreneurs, we facilitate various solutions to enable them to improve and grow their businesses, such as skills transfer and connections to supplier networks.
This 'Adopt-A-Vendor'/Street Franchise project is a pilot that we're using to inform a large-scale rollout of informal retail vending solutions to this kind of DIY-enterprise throughout the city, and ultimately, throughout the country.
Company's Garden Simple Pleasures Market
Starting end November 2014: a weekly (Sat & Sun) market featuring fresh produce, street food, art, artisans, designers, handcraft, collectibles, family, culture and community.
Also showcasing the rewards of the Company's Garden urban food garden based on the original design and planting of the creator of the Garden, Jan Van Riebeek.
A European-style boulevard market with a uniquely South African flavour: here you'll experience a truly representative collective of market vendors and performers within the lush setting of the Company's Garden – a real taste of South Africa.
